We typically don’t accept multiple documents issued by the same entity, like a driver license and ID card issued by the same state. We don’t accept copied, scanned, or photographed documents.Consulate cards and passports issued by Mexico, El Salvador, or Guatemala may be counted as 2 separate documents.We can't accept Puerto Rican birth certificates issued before July 1, 2010.If you want to use a Puerto Rico-issued birth certificate as proof of citizenship, make sure it was issued on July 1, 2010 or after.If yours was issued before July 1, 2010, you can get a new copy from Vital Chek If we can’t accept your documents, we'll work with you to see what other options are available and acceptable.
We verify it with the Social Security Administration and use it to help enforce child support laws.
After we verify your address, we’ll issue your card.
If you’re getting a Commercial Driver License (CDL), you must have an SSN and show proof of U. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residency (see list of approved documents).
We use facial recognition technology for your photo. You’ll need to remove anything that covers your face or head (like a hat or sunglasses).
If you don’t want to remove them, we’ll mark “Not Valid for Identification.” on your card.
We’ll make exceptions for medical and religious reasons.
